British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Deadly Road Accident

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities stated on late Wednesday. The fighter was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on December 29th, a tragic incident that took the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

Joshua had remained in the hospital while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.

“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two deceased friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.

Honoring the Deceased

The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. It was also noted that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”

The news of his discharge comes as the global fight fans shared its support for the champion in the following the heartbreaking incident.
