The Scottish side began their European campaign in ideal fashion with a valuable bonus-point win on the road against Sale Sharks.

Taking advantage of the elements at their backs, Sale started the brighter and raced to a 14-0 lead within the first quarter. Scores from Ernst van Rhyn and teenage debutant Ollie Davies put them in command.

However, the visitors fought back well with two tries prior to the interval. Hooker Hiddleston and back-rower Rory Darge both crossed to reduce the deficit.

Additional second-half tries from captain Kyle Steyn and centurion Stafford McDowall pushed the Warriors' advantage to twelve points. Marius Louw's try for Sale set up a nervous finale, but Glasgow stood strong to secure a significant opening victory.

Warriors Take Control After Interval

The match started with a bang as Sale captain Van Rhyn drove over from close range after just two minutes. An early injury to midfielder Ma'asi-White introduced teenager Davies into the fray for his European debut.

The youngster made an immediate impact. Moving to fly-half, he took a smart angle to collect an offload and score, making the home side's advantage.

Facing difficult weather, the Warriors used their set-piece to get back into the game. A strong driving maul was finished by hooker Hiddleston. Just before the break, Rory Darge barged over, with Hastings' kick making it a two-point game at half-time.

The Scottish club seized the advantage for the first occasion early in the second half. A misjudged box-kick was collected by No. 8 Dempsey, who fed captain Kyle Steyn to burst through a challenge and sprint to the line.

With in the driving seat, they clinched the fourth try when McDowall ran through a defender to score his 100th appearance for the team. That score capped a run of twenty-six consecutive points.

Sale gave themselves a late hope when Marius Louw showed good skills to score. The conversion made it a one-score game with minutes left.

One last chance came for them from a throw in the 22, but they failed to secure the possession, confirming Glasgow's triumph.
