Iranian Forces State Attack on US Base in Bahrain, During Regional Retaliatory Strikes.

Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Bahrain, as Iran launched operations throughout the Middle East in response for a significant and ongoing assault targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area in the area of the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any impact is uncertain and the US has yet to issue a statement.

Airspace Engagements

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - which all house US military bases - reported they have intercepted missiles in their airspace.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.

IRGC Statement

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the attack on Iran initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That initial attack - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck areas associated with the Iranian leadership, with President Trump urging the Iranian people to rise up against the leadership.

Additional Developments

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces said it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE announced that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems engaged the missiles with high efficiency and shot down a series of missiles," the statement continued.

The statement noted debris fell on a populated district in the capital, causing some material damage and killing a civilian.

The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
