Formal charges have been brought against two men related to a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be pepper spray led to people being hurt at the major London air hub.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two counts of robbery and charges for using a harmful chemical, as confirmed by court officials.
These accusations come after an investigation into an attack at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their suitcases stolen after exiting a car park lift, authorities reported.
A toddler was caught up in the incident in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to a medical facility and were eventually allowed to go home.
The incident – described by police as was not part of a series and deemed non-terroristic – resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a short time.
